The Animals Noah Forgot is a cabaret for Australian children taking its title and core material from the delightful publication for the young by A.B. “Banjo” Paterson.
Paterson’s collection of poems has served as the inspiration for a set of six songs written by respected conductor, educator and composer Noel Ancell OAM (published by Morton Music).
These songs and selected poems weave together a story about Banjo’s eccentrically loveable characters, incorporating dance and movement, singing and listening activities, presented by two members of Songmakers Australia.
The Animals Noah Forgot was written for children but, like all classics, it reaches out to people of all ages. It reveals Paterson’s great love of the Australian bush and his wry sense of humour, and includes some of the most charming verses ever written about Australian animals, perfectly matched by Norman Lindsay’s lighthearted and appealing illustrations.
